The River

Of all the fun things to do on her vacation, what was Caitey favorite thing to do? Go to the river that runs near our house. She loved walking the trail down to the swimming hole and loved playing in the current of the river. We even made our own "little kids" swimming hole that isn't quite as deep. We had a ball building a dam out of the river rocks. It was a lot of work but we loved it.

Caitey flew back home to South Carolina. We are going to miss her, but not nearly as much as her cousins Charlotte and Maeve.

Larry and Kitty

Congratulations to yesterday's winner, James Polk, from Mecklenburg County North Carolina! Yes, Kitty decided to go blueberry picking at the Berry Good Farm in Goffstown NH.

Kitty loved it. Caitey loved it. Charlotte, not so much. After about 15 minutes she was ready to go. We tortured her while we filled up a giant bucket with over 10 lbs of blueberries. What to do with all those blueberries? blueberry pancakes, blueberry syrup, blueberries and eggs, blueberry marinated steaks, blueberry glazed chicken, who knows what else. Did I ever mentions blueberries are a super food? Don't believe me? Here is the Wikipedia definition of Superfood: Superfood is a term sometimes used to describe food with high phytonutrient content that some may believe confers health benefits as a result. For example, blueberries are often considered a superfood (or superfruit) because they contain significant amounts of antioxidants, anthocyanins, vitamin C, manganese and dietary fibre.

Again, special thanks to Granite State Electronics for their generous donations. Enjoy the two Wii's! Todays contest winner will receive a Viking Outdoor Range Grill Cart courtesy of Grillmasters of Keene and Lebanon NH. It can hold all the meat you can throw at it! Again, we are looking for "Where is Kitty?". Name the location and state and the grill could be yours!

Kitty made a friend this weekend while at the beach. His name is Larry. Larry is a lobster. He is a very friendly lobster. He enjoys Kitty as well as tagging along with Charlotte, Caitey, and Maeve. Today Larry watched Charlotte and Caitey paint some rocks, and well...he got a little jealous. Poor Larry just wanted to join in the fun. So we let him. He is a really good painter.

Larry the lobster had a ball playing with the girls. However, he also knew that the fun would be short lived, for it was time for the family to eat. So he said goodbye and thanked us for letting him live out his dream of being an artist, then jumped into the pot of boiling water with his friends the clams. You are welcome Larry. And you taste delicious!

Charlotte really loved Larry:

What did Maeve think of all of this? Well you tell us?

Kitty Contest Continues

Thank you to Christine Jacobson from Springfield for guessing the last location of Kitty correctly. You have won the 32inch flat screen television courtesy of Granite State Home Theatre! We should have made it a little harder. Where was kitty you ask? Well it was simple...

Kitty was in the car driving in New Hampshire! Location and State people. It's not that difficult!

OK, due to the underwhelming response, we have decided to up the ante for our next prize. So here it is!

Guess right where Kitty will be and you will win two of the Wiis above courtesy of Gamestop.com!! You have to play to win people. Dont be shy!

Seems Wallis Sands Beach is much different than Myrtle Beach. Caitey was very shocked a the coldness of the water. However, she loved climbing on the rocks looking for sea glass, shells, crabs, fish, lobsters, and shrimp. We must have caught at least ten crabs, all different sizes. Unfortunately the elusive sea glass was a little harder to catch. But we did end up with a small amount of the precious delights.

Hey is that Kitty I spy on the rocks?

As you can see, the girls had a blast at the beach. And what do you do to top off such a great day? Well you have icecream and frozen yogurt of course. Charlotte had Chocolate Icecream with chocolate cookies and chocolate cookie dough. We loved it. Charlotte really wanted to get to Caitey's rainbow sprinkles and was not shy about shoving her fingers into the icecream to get them!

Kitt-Napped

Linus was attached to his blanket. Tom was attached to Jerry. Spanky was attached to Petey. Laverne to Shirley. The Roadrunner attached to an anvil. Charlotte attached to Kitty. Kitty is her name and what she is. A stuffed black and white cat. We can't even remember where Kitty came from (if you gave her to us please let us know). Charlotte sleeps with Kitty every night. Kitty makes Charlotte laugh. Kitty is dirty. But most of all Kitty is very well loved.

Kitty has been spotted over the past few days at various places. We think she has been Kittnapped.

Guess where Kitty will show up next and win a prize!!! Leave a comment telling us where you think she will be next. State and location. We dont expect exact, but if you get it close you will win this!:

As for Caitey, Charlotte, and Maeve, well the girls have really had a blast so far. We are currently going on night number two of Charlotte and Caitey sleeping in the big girl bed together. Caitey also got to practice feeding Maeve a bottle while driving for what seemed like forever in the car. They all just seem to really get along and love each other.

Look who is in a big girl bed!

Yes Charlotte and cousin Caitey are sleeping in a big bed together. They both were excited at the idea. Let's see how Caitey feels when Charlotte wakes her up at 5:30am! Better her than us!

Cousin Caitey

Charlotte and Maeve's cousin Caitey arrived early this morning for a little vacation with her favorite aunt and uncle (that would be Shelby and I). At 9 years old she braved flying solo to see us and the "girls". Obviously dad had to use his sales skills to pull that one off with his sister Julie. Not to mention the flight left Myrtle Beach SC at 10pm and arrived in Boston at 12am. She was a wreck (as any mother should). Of course Caitey was fine, all be it a little sleepy after a midnight flight.

Surprisingly everyone was awake at their normal times this morning. Nothing a little coffee couldnt fix (dont worry Julie, Caitey only had 3 cups). Ashley our saviour babysitter showed up for 8am and helped with all the girls until noon. Thank you Ashley for keeping an eye on everyone!

After nap Caitey and Charlotte played outside. Caitey found that blueberries picked fresh out of the front yard are much more delicious than the ones in the grocery store and gobbled them up. Then it was time to make brownies (dirt + water = mud). These girls are stuck to each other like glue!!!

Im with the band

Charlotte is going to run away from home and join a band. At least that is what we think. Not some silly Disney pop band but some experimental rock band where she can play her plastic piano in a solo stretch without fear. Surely she would join a label like Elephant 6 Records if she continued to hang out with Matty and Lila B from the Jersey side of NYC, who came up for a visit this weeked.

We all played over at Paul, Jena, and Marin's house on Saturday. Charlotte had a blast and even went to bed in a pack and play so that mom and dad could enjoy the bonfire for a while. Unfortunately there were very few pictures of the day/night. But here is what the fire looked like:

Ok it was a little smaller than that, but you get the idea.

Sunday after very little sleep Saturday night (and Friday night for that matter), we headed to Kelly and Daves for Mason's 5th birthday party. 5 years old? Are you kidding me? Time really does fly by. Charlotte enjoyed the kids and games. Although she is a little rough around the edges at pin the tail on the dinosaur and smash the pinata with the stick.

Maeve, well she was so fussy as you can tell by the pictures. She slept on dad for most of the party. Then hung out in the baby bjorn taking it all in. So fussy. :)
